The Competition
Overcoming climate changes is the number one engineering challenge of the 21st century. There is a strong need for a reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) to a sustainable level. Engineers are involved in every energy system and have valuable knowledge of new sustainable technologies.
The Future Climate photo competition is all about capturing the engineering solutions that are already present. All over the world there are thousands of technologies and best practices which can contribute to save our planet. The Future Climate photo competition seeks to visualize that the future is now. Log into Flickr, download your picture with a Creative Commons licence join the group Future Climate and make your Engineering Solutions pictures available for the competition.
A jury of engineers and technologists will select 50 photos that will be exhibited to put a focus on the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 15) in Copenhagen in December. Until the UN conference, the photos will be on display in Copenhagen.
The competition deadline is 1st of August 2009.
The 50 pictures will also be exhibited in various countries during the months after the conference, and will be given to the United Nations as an illustration of what engineers can acomplish regarding our common climate challenges during the climate conference in Copenhagen in the beginning of September.
Check out the Future Climate Engineering Solutions group on Facebook for news etc.
Having problems? If your pictures does not show at www.photoclimate.info it is problably because Flickr is giving you a kind of review. This is because of safety reasons, and might take a few days. But if you dowload the pictures to the group on Flickr, they will be visualized eventually.
